Bob Miles > Big Kitty

This is Merritt's older cat. It is a rare moment to get these creatures to pause long enough to have their picture taken. The piercing eyes make you look and wonder what she is thinking...
Bob Miles > Floating Above the Clouds

The trampoline (hidden) provided some interesting pictures of the kids. In this photo, I sat in a lounge chair below the trampoline top and snapped pictures using the sports setting which froze the action.

The kids hammed it up for me and this one became one of my favorites.
Bob Miles > Lake Weir Dock - Morning

This picture was taken early morning at Lake Weir. There was a morning haze in the background and the subtle ripples in the water combined with the reflection of the dock provided an interesting composition. The black & white seemed to focus on the structure and reflection without the distraction of colors (or lack thereof).
Bob Miles > Sunrise (Debary, Florida)

I was driving east-bound on Interstate 4 from Orlando to Debary to meet a friend for an early morning golf tee time. On my trip up there, I decided to stop for a cup of coffee at one of the exits along the way. When I pulled off the highway, I spotted this area just along the road where there was morning fog in the foreground with the early stages of a beautiful sunrise rising in the background.

The interesting aspect of the trees in the picture is that this area was hit the year before from the hurricanes that came through Central Florida. You can see evidence of those hurricanes in certain trees that are either bare and/or leaning.
Bob Miles > Curtain of Water

Samantha, my niece in the lower right, found some new friends at the same water park in Cinnamon Beach.

Although this picture is the same composition as the previous one, I really liked the expressions on the girl's faces in this one!
Bob Miles > And They're Off...

We were taking some family photos at the beach and decided to have a few races. I like this one for many reasons including the sunset (behind the photographer - me!), the expression on the faces of Jenny and Drew and the beach and fence in the background. You can see Jenny's competitive spirit and focus on the race. Drew, on the other hand, seems happy with the potential of beating his mother in a foot race...
Bob Miles > Laguna Beach, California

This photograph was taken at one of my most favorite places to visit in the world - the Montage Resort in Laguna Beach, CA (www.montagelagunabeach.com). This resort was 45 minutes from our California house and was a great place to come have dinner or lunch overlooking the Pacific Ocean. There is a walking path between the beach and hotel that rises above the ocean where this photograph was taken.

The colors and composition in this photo came at a fortunate time. It was extremely cold this day, so there were no people out on the beach. The bougainvillea in the foreground, combined with the blue ocean provided great colors. The rock structures give this area such a great landscape.
Bob Miles > Lake Weir Dock

This picture was taken around sundown (setting to the right of the photo) at Lake Weir.
Bob Miles > "Lone Cypress" - Monterey Peninsula, CA

When I found out I was transfering back to Florida from California, I told my wife that I wanted to take a two day trip up the California coast line to say I "did" the Pacific Coast Highway.

My trip started in LA and ended at the Monterrey Peninsula near Carmel by the Sea, CA. This is a famous photography and artistic compostion location commonly referred to as "the lone cypress." The day was very cloudy and foggy when I was there. So, the black & white picture seemed to be a better choice for this picture. This is one of those sites where, each type of weather, would provide you with a different and interesting picture. I may have to go back one day soon to try some more.

(Janie: this is not a bad idea either since it is only about 10 minutes away from the world famous Pebble Beach Golf Course - which I still want to play one day)
